Özet

In the formation of the material and spiritual richness of Anatolia, traditions, customs and beliefcentred practices had great importance. Alawism, which contains the accumulation of centuries and one of the important values of Turkish folk culture, has made an important contribution to the structure of Anatolia. Ocaks are the primary institutions that ensure the continuity of Alawism in a traditional way. The ocaks serve as a bridge that provides communication and information flow between the past and the future. In terms of their origin, they find themselves based on Hazrat Ali or Haci Bektash Veli. The ocaks are located in a special place in the society with their miracles and they are transmitters of tradition by presenting the information they have preserved about serving for society. They are responsible for transferring the inherited tradition from generation to generation, thus undertaking the task of protecting social bonds and religious ceremonies. They are an institution formed by people who organize and execute. There is no central structure in the ocaks, which can be defined as a system formed around the lineage and governed by religious beliefs. For this reason, there are many Alawi ocaks in Anatolia. One of them is Ali Bircivan's ocak from Amasya Alawi ocaks. In this study, the beliefs and rituals of Ali Bircivan Ocak, which is an example of the ocaks that have an important role in the continuity of Alawism, were examined in the light of the findings determined by field research and interview methods. It was aimed to explain the place and importance of the ocak in Anatolian Alawi patriarch (pir) ocak, guide (murshid) ocak, ocak of poor etc. According to the concept of ocak, which differs depending on qualifications, Ali Bircivan's ocak has the position of patriarch ocak. Ali Bircivan, whose name was given to the ocak, is based on the Twelve Imams. It is believed to have kinship with Haci Bektash Veli, one of the most important personalities of Bektashism. In addition, due to the fact that Ali Bircivan is a member of Kececi Baba's ocak, the latter is accepted as guide ocak. Ali Bircivan's ocak has a wide range of minstrels. There are many saints and mahatma associated with the hearth. More than half of the village where the ocak is located is its members. © 2021 Ankara Haci Bayram Veli University. All rights reserved.
