dc.description.abstractThe first aim of the present study is to take a snapshot of, or present a map to the tourism education in Turkey. To reach this goal, the tourism education in Turkey is analysed under two headings: formal and non-formal education. Under formal education, high school, vocational school, undergraduate, graduate and doctorate education are discussed using the student and educator numbers. Under the non-formal education title, on the other hand, courses under National Education Ministry and Culture and Tourism Ministry are examined. Second aim of the paper is to examine the studies about tourism students’ attitudes toward the tourism industry. Finaly, at the end of the paper, findings of the studies researching tourism students’ attitudes toward the tourism industry are presented. The paper concludes with recommendation for tourism education and research recommendations to the academicians
dc.description.abstractBu araştırmanın birincil amacı Türkiye’deki turizm eğitiminin resmini çekmek ya da haritasını çıkarmaktır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda Türkiye’deki turizm eğitimi örgün ve yaygın eğitim olmak üzere iki başlıkta ele alınmaktadır. Örgün eğitimde lise, ön lisans, lisans, yüksek lisans ve doktora eğitimi, öğrenci ve hoca sayıları da verilerek incelenmektedir. Yaygın eğitim başlığı altında ise, Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı ve Kültür ve Turizm Bakanlığı’na bağlı kurslar ele alınmaktadır. Çalışmanın ikincil amacı ise, turizm eğitimi alan öğrencilerin turizm sektörüne ve turizme yönelik tutumlarını belirlemeye dönük çalışmaların incelenmesidir. Bu doğrultuda çalışmada turizm öğrencilerine yönelik yapılan çalışmaların özet bulgularına yer verilmiştir. Çalışma eğitime yönelik önerilerle ve akademiye yönelik yapılması gereken araştırma alan önerileriyle son bulmaktadır
