Özet
Son yıllarda politik ve teknolojik gelişmeler, sermaye hareketlerinin yönlendirilmesinde ve bileşiminde önemli rol oynamıştır. Bu çalışmada sermaye hareketlerinin makroekonomik değişkenler üzerine etkileri, Granger nedensellik modelleri kullanılarak 1984Q1-2003Q4 dönemi için incelenmiştir. Çalışmanın sonuçlarına göre sermaye hareketleri ile seçilmiş makroekonomik değişkenler arasında anlamlı bir nedensellik ilişkisi vardır. Yoğun sermaye girişleri, toplam talep, para arzı büyümesi ve enflasyonda artışa; reel döviz kurunun değer kazanmasına; yüksek reel faizlerin ve cari işlemler açıklarının sürmesine neden olmaktadır
Political and technological developments have played important role in driving and composition of capital flows in recent years. This study investigates the effects of capital flows on macroeconomic variables by using Granger causality models for the period 1984Q1-2003Q4. The results indicate that there is a significant relationship between capital flows and selected macroeconomic variables. Large capital inflows caused an increase on aggregate demand, money supply growth and inflation; an appreciation on reel exchange rates; to sustain high interest rates and current account deficits
