Özet
Sözeylemlerin kullanımı, edimbilim yetisinin temel bileşenlerinden birisidir. Dil öğrencilerinin farklı stratejik kullanımları olan rica söz eylemlerini kullanma gereksinimleri, mevcut çalışmanın anlamını vurgulamaktadır. Tunceli ili Munzur Üniversitesi İngilizce Hazırlık Okulunda öğrenim gören 60 öğrenci (30 deneysel /30 kontrol grup), çalışmada katılımcı olarak yer almıştır. Çalışmada kullanılan veriler, yazılı söylem tamamlama testi aracılığıyla toplanmış; Taguchi'nin kategorisi (2006) ve CCSARP (Blum-Kulka ve diğerleri, 1989; Sözeylemlerin farklı kültürlerde yerine getiriliş biçimini incelemeye dönük proje) Tanımlama Kılavuzu temel alınarak nicel ve nitel istatistik kullanılarak incelenmiştir. Bu çalışma, her iki grubun da CCSARP Tanımlama Kılavuzu'nda tanımlanan sözeylem stratejilerinden çoğunu kullandıkları, fakat bu stratejilerin iki grup arasındaki dağılımının farklılık gösterdiği sonucuna varmıştır.
Speech acts are considered to be one of the principal components of pragmatic competence. The need for language learners to use speech act of request that involves a series of strategies is the significance of the study. The participants of the study were 60 Turkish EFL students (30 experimental / 30 control group) studying at the English Preparatory School of Munzur University, Tunceli, Turkey. The data were collected through Written Discourse Completion Task (WDCT) and analysed based on the framework of Taguchi (2006) and the Cross Cultural Speech Act Realization Project (CCSARP) conducted by Blum-Kulka et al. (1987) by using descriptive statistics. Findings of the current study revealed that even though both groups used most of the strategies proposed by Blum-Kulka et al. (1989) in the CCSARP Coding Manual, the distribution of the strategies differed across the two groups.
