    A behavioral analysis of the turkish banking in the financialization process

    Having traced the Turkish banking’ actions and behavioral shifts in the financialization process, it was determined that the Turkish banking industry tried to build a relatively sound financial structure well prepared for potential crises and financial stress episodes by assessing risks and opportunities of financialization in a balanced manner, and thus endeavored to avoid being a cause or stimulus of an economic crisis, but the financial situation accompanied by a high degree of financial leverage and open positions remained to create a systemic financial fragility in both the banking industry and national economy.
